LIFE Build Mission

LIFE Build's mission is twofold:

  1. To train future leaders in the Civil Crafts.
  2. To provide affordable housing in the communities we serve.

Our program includes an apprenticeship program to provide an "earn while you learn" experience. Participants and apprentices will earn industry-recognized certifications from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Once they are enrolled in the General Carpentry course, they are eligible to participate in the construction of a single-family home.

WORKING TOGETHER

We work with you to come up with the very best solutions for your challenges!

01

Entry Level

The NCCER Core certification provides an introduction to basic construction skills. This certification prepares individuals for entry-level positions on project sites.

02

General Carpentry

The NCCER General Carpentry certification helps learners to build general carpentry skills before moving into an advanced course. Curriculum includes: building materials, floor systems, wall systems, roof framing, and more.

03

Advanced Carpentry

The NCCER Advanced certification builds on top of the learner's foundational knowledge and brings it to a more advanced level.

04

Pre-Apprenticeship Opportunities

For learners who are in high school, recent high school graduates, formerly incarcerated, etc., a pre-apprenticeship program may be more suited to your needs.

Our Projects

LIFE Build is co-located with our agricultural training program: LIFE Farms. We have built custom gardening equipment such as storage bins, a vermiculture farming box, various racks, etc.

If you have a custom project for your garden that can be fabricated from wood, let us know!

LIFE Build and its apprentices have built storage sheds which can be used for anything our community may desire. If you would like a closet inside, a loft, or a simple storage shed, we can tailor the design to virtually any need. Stop by and see us for a consultation.

Our organization believes every child should have a decent bed to sleep on. If you have a child that is in need of a bed frame, please let us know. Thanks to generous donations of lumber from Georgia-Pacific, we are able to provide beds at a very low cost (or free of charge) depending on funding.
